Embr (PC)

Embr Would you put your grandma out the window if your house were on fire? No? No. I would have it done by someone qualified for the job. Window-tossing is an excellent way to rescue people from danger in the current game. A firefighter doesn’t require a lot of practice nor a lot courage. It’s . It is chaotic, frantic and a lot of fun.

Embr

allows you to play the role of a normal Joe. You can play any role. You just need a hose, a smartphone, and the desire to extinguish burning buildings. Uber meets Death Wish, only this time it’s for those with a bit more. It is literally as simple as choosing a job via your smartphone. Save people and things, then get paid. If that sounds like it’s not fun, you might have a problem.

Although I’m not sure that this title is helping me the most, it is still proving to be an enjoyable game. I don’t think Embr is being played to its full potential. It is more of an arcade game and would be much more enjoyable with a group. Aside from my inability to like other people, I have been playing in single-player. However, it was much more fun with a group.

a goal-based title. This game is primarily about saving people and putting out flames. As you progress, modifiable items are added to your level. You may need to get rid of certain items or prevent buildings from being damaged by flames.

These little details not only give you more options to consider and make the game more challenging, but they also allow you to enjoy replaying the same areas.

This title could easily get pretty boring very quickly, you’d think. If you could just run around the city with a hose, that would be the case. you loadout is as important to your quick thinking as it is in .

As you earn more money, you can upgrade your gear and take on more difficult challenges.

These hazards are real and you have to be mindful of your own safety as well as the safety of others. You can’t use a hose to extinguish a burning pan, as I discovered out to my cost.

It’s not enough to just use the right equipment to eliminate hazards. If there is a fire and the room contains electrical objects, it is smart to shut off the power. It is not wise to bathe flaming electrics in water, unless you do not want to be electrocuted or burn to death.

Other dangers, such as poisonous gases, will make your life even more difficult. It is possible to smash windows but it is much better to have a fan blow out the toxic fumes.

Embr requires that you use your brain to achieve success. I enjoy this game because it adds mental gymnastics in an otherwise monotonous exercise in button-bashing.

As I already mentioned, throwing people out of burning buildings from the upper floors is a good way to save them. Remember that gravity isn’t friendly and that hitting the ground from a high height can be a way to end your own life. Tossing people from third stories is not possible without a trampoline.

Also, you must be able aim the parson at this device. Otherwise they’ll be a splat. Splats are not eligible for your quota in saved lives, and therefore you will lose money. You’re also being assessed by the app providing the jobs. This means you want to be as flame-friendly as possible. Infringing on your quotas can result in you losing flames.

doesn’t bother me too much. The story isn’t going to be riveting so you don’t have much to complain about. First-person shooter fans will find the controls easy to use and should feel comfortable with them.

The only thing you need to do is swap your gun for a water hose and your other gear for firefighting equipment. The graphics are fun and cartoony and perfectly fit the game.

The game is very straightforward. My only complaint is that setting fires can be tedious. It is not possible to simply douse a flame from behind a sofa. You must aim for the wall to see exactly where the flames are. If you don’t soak everything, the fire will begin spreading again.

Water is limited and you need to keep the area you are in safe. It’s understandable to increase difficulty, but it can be frustrating when the game is too picky.

party game. This is the type of thing you can play when you want to be silly and not care too much about progression or story. As I mentioned earlier, it’s more fun to play with friends. You can share the work so that you can each do some of the saving while the others focus on the burning buildings. Single-player can still be fun but is a little harder as you are responsible for everything. However, I really like the setting and find the gameplay unique and fun enough to make it worth your while. This is definitely a must-have for anyone who loves a high-energy adventure.
